At the Easter #014-Let not your heart be troubled

Matt 27:57-60, 1Cor 15:17, 1Pet 1:3-4

As we reflect on the death of Jesus, we can imagine the grief and confusion of the disciples. Somehow, they felt their hopes seemingly dashed. However, they prayed for comfort in such times, hoping that our God, though he is dead he will rise again.

If Jesus had not risen from the dead, we would have been the most hopeless beings. But glory be to God, because of his resurrection we who believe in him are declared by the Spirit as the most hopeful beings ever existed.

Brethren, there is hope for us at the Easter. Whatever that looks bleak and dead in our lives, because of the resurrection, we will experience life and light at the end of it all. Shalom!

The Road to Easter #013-Drawing closer to Jesus through the Last Supper

Luke 22:19-20

"And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'"

The Last Supper, where Jesus shared his final meal with his disciples, holds deep significance for us as believers. It was a moment of communion and fellowship, where Jesus imparted important lessons to his disciples as he left us with a powerful symbol of his sacrifice and love.

Brethren, in this simple act of breaking bread and sharing of wine, Jesus would establish the sacrament of Holy Communion, inviting us to partake in his body and blood as a way to remember and draw closer to him.

 It is a time of remembrance, as we recall the great sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins and a time of communion, as we share in his divine presence

The Road to Easter #012-The flow of his water meant, life-imparted

John 19:33-34, Ephesians 5:29-30_

He was pierced by the  soldiers by the side with a spear. Blood and water flowed from his side.

Apart from redeeming us through his blood, Jesus also imparted life unto us through his water to deal with death. The water that flowed out of his body when he was pierced by the side.

Finally, on the way to Calvary, it is imperative to be aware that through his blood and water, we have been redeemed and imparted life eternal.  Shalom.

The Road to Easter #011-Redemption through his blood

John 19:33-34, Hebrews 9:22

He was pierced by the  soldiers by the' side with a spear. Blood and water flowed from his side. By his sacrifice, Jesus redeemed us through his blood. Hallelujah!

One of the two substances that emanated from Jesus' pierced side is blood. The blood is redemption, and that's to deal with sin. The bible says for the purchasing of the Church.

Brethren, as we journey through remembrance, let us be reminded that by his nailed-pierced hands, we're free, and for that by his blood, we are redeemed from sin and the curse of the law. Hallelujah!

The Road to Easter #10-The coming of the day of the Lord is near.

Mark 15:33-39, Amos 8:9, Joel 2:31

Darkness covering  the earth at the death of  Jesus  fulfilled the prophecy and revealed how profound the nature of Jesus' sacrifice was.

The darkness is seen as mourning, indicating a great sorrow and grief felt at the death of Jesus  by the Father because of sin. This was the situation we found ourselves till Jesus waged war on death and defeated sin in darkness.

As we journey through, let ponder on the significance of these happenings and what they symbolize and  pray for deeper insight into the plan of God for salvation. And as in Amos, the bible described a day of darkness and mourning  before the coming of the day of the Lord, so are we're in wait of the coming of the day of Lord. Shalom!

The Road to Easter #9-Reconciled to call God, Father

 Matthew 27:45-46

Jesus' cry to God, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

The cry of Jesus tells us that sin indeed causes separation from God. He felt forsaken and abandoned by his Father because at that moment, he carried the sins of all.

Jesus, bearing our sins on the cross, he provided us the way to be reconciled with God the Father so that we can address Him as Father. Jesus, who addressed God as Father, on the cross was not legally permitted to address God as such because of the separation. That's why he said, "My , my God my God, why have you forsaken me so that we can now have the right to say Abba Father, Abba Father, why have you so accepted us; for we, have assumed the position of sonship. Hallelujah!

Word of Grace-The road to Easter #8

Luke 23:32-43

Today, as we journey through to Calvary, we contemplate the conversation that ensued on the cross. Two criminals who were crucified alongside Jesus; one had faith in Christ even on his last moment while the other disbelieved Christ and wanted further proof of Jesus being the son of God even at the point of his death.

Brethren, believers are expected to remain faithful in Christ even unto death. The faith of the repented thief got him saved at the point of death. This tells us that salvation is only found in Christ, and as such, having acknowledged the son of God, even so, are we saved now, and we will surely be saved on the last day. Shalom.
